ELISA Wash Buffer (10x)
Product overview
The ELISA Wash Buffer, 10X concentrated solution of buffered surfactant with preservative. It serves the purpose of eliminating unbound substances from microtiter plates during the steps between the addition of reagents in an ELISA assay. By upholding the appropriate buffering conditions, unbound assay components and potential interfering agents can be effectively rinsed away without impeding the antigen-antibody binding reactions, thereby diminishing non-specific background noise, and enhancing the specificity of the signal. It contains a non-azide, non-mercury preservative. This buffer is aseptically filtered through a 0.2 micron filter into clean, pre-sterilized container.
Storage Condition
Store for up to 3 months at 2-8 °C. No special shipping conditions or precautions are required. May turn yellow over time. ELISA Wash Buffer, 10X is supplied concentrated, so crystalline precipitates may form in the bottle. If this happens, gently warm or mix the buffer until all crystals are dissolved. Do not let it boil.
How To Use
- Dilute ELISA Wash Buffer, 10X by adding 1 part ELISA Wash Buffer to 9 parts deionized water and mix for 15 minutes.
- Completely fill the wells of the ELISA plate with 1X wash buffer (about 400 µL/well). The diluted wash buffer may be dispensed through a squirt bottle, a plate washer, through a multi-channel pipette, or through an automated system.
- Aspirate or dump out the buffer and repeat for a total of 3-4 washes.
- After the final dump or aspiration, pound the plate on paper towels to remove any excess liquid.
